Sedation Dentistry

Play icon

Sedation – a safe technology for dental treatment patients of all ages. Sedation will be a lifeline not only for children who are afraid of medical manipulation, but also for adults who have negative previous treatment experiences or psychological trauma. During sedation treatment, an anaesthesiologist is always present next to the dentist, who monitors the patient’s condition.

Our task is to create conditions of comfort and safety for our patients, as well as to free them forever from the fear of the dentist.

FAQ

How Safe Is Sedation Dentistry?

Dental sedation treatment is completely safe. This is a type of anesthesia, carried out by the use of drugs for the latest generation general anesthesia for superficial sleep, in order to anesthetize and eliminate the psycho-emotional factor in dental treatment.

What is the difference between sedation and narcosis?

During narcosis, drugs of various pharmacological groups (narcotics, muscle relaxants, hypnotics) are used, which is possible only in a hospital. In the case of sedation, only one drug from the group of those that depress the nervous system is used and administered intravenously. Anesthesiologist calculates both dosage according to the age and weight of the patient and the sedation duration.

Why is the presence of an anesthesiologist important during sedation?

The anaesthesiologist constantly monitors the patient’s condition, administers the medication, and monitors the course of sedation sleep. The dentist has other duties from which he must not be distracted.

Why does the dentist recommend my child to have dental treatment under sedation?

We do not treat children under narcosis, because it involves immersion in a deep sleep. We do not treat children under narcosis, because this involves a fall into a deep sleep. We only offer sedation only for children with avoidant behavior or in cases where a large amount of treatment at once should be done. Sedation will also be helpful to shield the child from additional stress.

How long does dental sedation treatment last?

It all depends on the amount of work and teeth requiring treatment.
